You can setup Windows XP to run the PWM (physician workload management software) and dragon when your computer automatically starts up.
Here are the directions:
1. Click Start>Programs, then right click on Startup folder and choose Open.
2. The Startup window will appear.
3. Now you need to get shortcuts for the program you want to run into the Startup window. The easiest way is to copy an existing shortcut on your desktop and paste it into the Startup window.
If you have a shortcut on your desktop for the program you want to automatically run, you can right click on the shortcut icon for the program you want startup automatically, select copy, and then paste in the Startup window. This program will automatically run at startup.
Alternatively, if you don't have a shortcut to copy, you can browse for the program path. On the Startup window, go to File menu and choose New>Shortcut.
In the dialog box click the Browse button to specify the program you want to run at startup
Dragon shortcut path:
"C:\Program Files\Nuance\NaturallySpeaking10\Program\"
When Dragon starts up, you will still have to manually select a user from the list.
PWM shortcut path:
"C:\Program Files\MEDITECH\Fs\SSD_LIVE\system\magic.exe" "C:\Program Files\Meditech\Fs\SSD_LIVE\Desktop\Desktop.mps"
Please note: The shortcut path for the PWM includes arguments that won't automatically get filled in if you browse for the link. The easiest way to get the PWM in the Startup window is to copy the icon's properties from the desktop.
After specifying the program path, click next and finish. Then you will see a new shortcut (computer icon) in the Startup folder.
4. At the next time you start your computer the program will run automatically and you will see it in the system tray.
This same process can be used to add many programs to the Startup window, and automatically open these programs up when Windows XP is restarted or the user logs back on to his or her user account.
Examples of other useful start programs include Microsoft Outlook and Internet Explorer.
