Hints: Check Your Audio Settings Frequently

Check your audio settings in Dragon NaturallySpeaking on a regular basis.
Now and again, you might find that your accuracy diminishes. Often, the reason can be due to audio changes e.g.
  • Your voice changes due to tiredness, elation, stress, dry throat
  • The background acoustics change
  • You might be working with a laptop and may change location
In any of these cases, letting Dragon “re – calibrate” your audio can have a positive effect on accuracy.  To do this simply say “check audio settings” or just “check audio” or do it manually if these commands are not recognised.  To to Dragon Bar->Tools->Accuracy Center to open the ‘Audio Setup Wizard’ window where you will see a link to “Check Audio”.

Note that, apart from the two readings, you won’t be able to activate the dialogue box controls by voice in the audio setup wizard (i.e. you won’t be able to say “click next”). You will need to click ‘next’ with the mouse, or alternatively press the enter key.
