Overview: Account numbers for patient.
Location: Header summary window in upper right corner of the screen in the electronic ambulatory record (EAR)
There are three multi-digit numbers. The first number is the account number for the outpatient account of the patient. Each patient will have only one account number for life for all outpatient visits to the clinic. The second number is the unit number (medical record number) which is an identification number used by the Medical Records (MRI) module to differentiate patient records. A unit number extends across multiple patient visits and serves as a permanent identifier for the patient's record. You can usually identify patients in Patient fields by entering their unit numbers.
The third number is the EMR (electronic medical record) ID number.
Below the line containing the numbers is the name of site which was the site of the first PPR visit, and which may not be the current facility.
