Sometimes when you are dictating into Dragon Medical, the medical terms seem to pop up first and take precedence over non-medical terms. If you are dictating in a situation where you will not need medical terms, and you wish the non-medical terms to take precedent, you can switch to a non-specialist vocabulary.
You do this under the Dragon->Manage Vocabularies selection on the Dragon menu. The Manage Vocabularies window will appear. Now, create a new non-specialist vocabulary by pressing the New button. The New Vocabulary window will apper. Title the new vocabulary whatever you would like, such as Nonmedical. Type this into the Vocabulary name text box. Now, select the Base General - Medium vocabulary in the Based On list box. This choice is at near the bottom of the list. Now, select OK. If Dragon asks you to save ;your use files, then do so. After saving the user files, return to the Manage Vocabularies window. Select your new vocabulary, and select Open. This will replace your currently open vocabulary with the new vocabulary, free of a lot of specialist terminology.
