One important way to improve Dragon accuracy is to customize the vocabulary with your documents. You can do this by using existing documents to customize the dragon vocabulary as well as allow Dragon to adapt to your dictation style.
Dragon can analyze text in files of the following formats: .txt, .rtf, .doc (Microsoft Word), .wpd (Corel WordPerfect), and HTML formats.
Identify some documents (5 - 20), and make sure they are spell-checked. Choose Tools->Accuracy Center on the Dragon menu. Choose Add Words From Your Documents to the Vocabulary link.
The Add Words from Documents window will appear. Make sure the checkboxes for Find Unknown Words, Preview the List of Unknown Words, and Adapt to Writing Style are selected. Click the Next button. The Add Documents entry area will appear. Click Add Document and locate the correct documents to analyze in the browser window that appears. Click the Next button and Dragon will analyze the documents.
Click Next again, and Dragon will show you any unknown words it found. Uncheck any words you do not want to add to the vocabulary. If you want to change any of the words, select the word and press Edit. You can change the form, capitalization or spelling of the word as you like.
Click Next again.
Before the words are added, you are given the option to provide acoustic training for them. You can skip this step and provide training later for just those words that seem to need it.
When Dragon is done analyzing the data, close the Accuracy Center window.
After analyzing documents, save the changes by selecting the Dragon->Save User Files.
